Lonely Bunker is the solo project of American singer songwriter Jay Stewart, know also as the lead singer and guitar player for skate punk veterans Symphony of Distraction, and formerly SecondShot.
Lonely Bunker has distinguished itself from Jay's previous band projects by ditching the guitar for piano and synths, though retaining the melodies and songwriting influences that come from his punk roots.
Though Lonely Bunker has yet to appear on a stage, Jay has toured with his other bands on 4 continents, won the title of “Best Bay Area Band” by San Francisco’s Live 105 radio station.
He’s shared the stage with top acts such as The Offspring, Rancid, Jane’s Addiction, Iggy Pop and Alkaline Trio amongst others. Jay recently spent 5 years studying jazz piano in NYC before taking his fancy new piano skills and applying it to Lonely Bunker.
Lonely Bunker has released 2 albums to date. The first, "Daytime Lullaby" is comprised mostly of piano/vocal renditions of songs from Jay's previous bands. The second album, "7 Songs Vol 1," is all original songs that show more of the type of music we can expect from Lonely Bunker in the years to come.
